About this project

For this Halifax kitchen we transformed the worksurfaces around a striking Fugen Superior Calacatta quartz island. The dramatic grey veining on a bright white ground gives the island genuine presence, anchoring the room while keeping it light.

An island is often the hardest-working surface in a kitchen, so quartz is an ideal choice — it shrugs off daily use, never needs sealing and wipes clean in seconds. We templated, cut and installed the worktops from our local workshop just up the road.
